Located on the shore of one of the many inland lakes of Central Florida near Orlando, this project is one of our most memorable. This represents one of our first successes in defining what classic Florida style means to us. While mature, the home proves that classic design in Florida can be timeless, stylish and fresh. The clients gave us a detailed list of program needed to accommodate their growing family of five, love of dogs and extensive book collection. After multiple iterations, the final plan encompasses 14,000 square feet, three floors, and twenty-three rooms. The facade features a scalloped parapet over the main entrance and oval windows, inspired by the British Colonial style loved by our client. The interiors reflect formal English style, but lightened and brightened for a more relaxed ambiance. A Florida room offers an exquisite and intimate connection between home and wilderness through large windows with views of the lake.
