Ocean Reef Sunset House
This house is known as Seraphim Point, and it occupies a very enviable site within the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, the northernmost of the Florida Keys. Its location on a private peninsula allowed us to situate the house with all its major views to the west, over the water, and thus to Florida's majestic sunsets. The house rests on a base of native keystone. Windows feature traditional Caribbean shutters, the roof is wood shake, and there is elaborate stucco detailing on the walls. This is a two story house with five bedrooms, but it is also oriented toward outdoor living. In the evening the sunset reflects onto the bay and, in turn, its colors infuse the grand spaces within.
