Architectural
Services consist of several phases; preliminary
design, design development, construction documents, bidding & negotiation
and construction phase services
• Interior Architecture pertains
to designing for whatever finishes go on the walls, floors and ceilings
in a given space. And then there is the 'softer
side' of
interior design, which is the selection of the furniture and fabrics
that are going to be used on the furnishings and draperies.
• Space Planning pertains to the art of how
a space is going to be used functionally and therefore determines
the physical layout of
a space and its furnishings.
• Budget Programming is self-explanatory,
but clients seldom have a budget in mind. We heard of one complaint
from an endearing husband
who quipped that he gave his wife an unlimited budget… and
she went over it! More often, however, clients turn to the designer
to create an acceptable budget depending upon their own likes and
dislikes.
• Purchasing & Project Management is actually
the nitty-gritty work of the designer -to specify, procure and install
all the finishes
and furnishing on an approved schedule.
• Furniture Design is often necessitated
by the unique circumstances of a given project.
