As
in any relationship, communication is the cornerstone. With nearly
25 years of joint endeavors, and 30 years of marriage, William
and Phyllis Taylor personify two minds with one goal: to
create a perfect reflection of their clients' spatial portrait
with the choicest of design elements and meticulous architectural
amenities.
After apprenticing separately with several of Florida's
leading architectural firms and completing a wide range of project
types including airport concourses, colleges, office buildings,
resorts, libraries, as well as custom homes, the Taylors decided
to meld their considerable experience and talent into a new firm
of their own and, in 1983, established the Taylor & Taylor
Partnership.
The Taylors were educated and trained in the Bauhausian tradition
as form- follows-function modernists. Subsequent to
their graduation, they worked separately for firms renowned for
their modernist creations. Having travelled widely in the U.S,
Europe, South & Central America and the Caribbean they never
forgot their love of indigenous and traditional architectural styles.
They consider themselves fortunate in their own practice to be
called upon to create projects in a multiple of styles. As Mr.
Taylor often says "We love all styles, as long as they are
done well."
